Not sure what "play with version 2 means". I own BS3 only (i.e. not upgrading form BS2 to BS3). What should I expect if I purchase this campaign. Will it work out of the box with BS3's features?

Hello! This campaign was created for BS3, and after its completion, the legacy version of BS2 was added. It is playable for both versions. Enjoy the game, save weapons, and don't trust your wingman too much.
The best formation is probably a wingman in the back at a distance of 1500m. In this formation, he attacks targets more confidently according to your request.

BTW: I'd suggest rephrasing the statement above in the store page on steam as "Compatible with legacy KA-50 Black Shark-2" or "Available for both KA-50 Black Shark-2 and Ka-50 Black Shark-3" to avoid confusion.
