jaz85 Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 I have options.graphics.maxfps = "75" in my autoexec.cfg and until 2.9 it would limit fps to 75. Since 2.9, that setting seems to have no effect with fps often exceeding 150 or so. My machine is Windows 11, Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3070 (8GB), 64GB RAM, and I am currently running open beta v. 2.9.1.48335. To be sure, DCS runs very well on this machine, but with 1080p monitors at 75Hz refresh rate, I get no benefit from fps higher than 75. With fps limited to 75, my gpu also runs anywhere from 5*C to as much as 10*C cooler than it runs with uncapped fps. Additional info: I am running the multi-threaded application, and have not yet tried this with the single-threaded application. So far I use this only single-user, so no multi-player. Otherwise, I am very much enjoying 2.9.

ED added an FPS slider in the system settings, so you can just adjust it there now, instead Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 4TB, 2x 2TB, 1TB Samsung NVME, 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB Custom STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Moza FFB, Virpil Collective, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios,49” Samsung Ultrawide, Streamdeck XL, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
jaz85 Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 And it was there in front of me! This works great, thank you for mentioning it. I think this can be considered solved or at least as having an adequate solution. 1

Dunska Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Nice to have the GUI, but would be better if it was more granular. Many VR users needs 36 or 72 FPS limits which were fine in the autoexec.cfg. The GUI only works in 5 FPS increments though. You can modify it in the options.lua, but as soon as you open the Options GUI it will jump to the nearest 5 FPS slider setting.
