PawlaczGMD Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 I've just started this campaign, but wondering how the INU alignment is implemented. It seems to just be precise aligned even from a cold start? That would be great, I always hated the fact you have to wait for 20 minutes, I don't think that's even realistic. I just want to know how it's done here. Does the INU still drift realistically? In the first few missions, there are fix points on the way, but it really doesn't seem necessary to do a fix a few minutes after take-off. Is it just an optional thing? How realistic is it to actually implement these fix points, given that with the KA-50 we have in the game with GPS, we can do a fix on our GPS coords anywhere? Is there any advantage to using external objects? 1
Solution AGM2017 Posted November 29, 2023 Solution Posted November 29, 2023 It does start with precise alignment without having to go through the process. No drift either, so no need to do updates unless you want to for role playing reasons. It's not mentioned in the pdf briefing document, but if you scroll to the very end of the mission briefing screen in game there's a small note that INU alignment and fix point updates aren't needed. 1 1

Thanks for the info. TBH I would prefer it to start precision aligned, but drift, so that there is a reason to do fixes. But I will take it over starting not aligned and either having to waste 5 minutes even with time acceleration, or having useless target/data points. It is refreshing to be able to use data points like that one mission suggests... 1 1
STONE SKY Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Hi there! I deliberately took this step - INU does not require alignment and correction. But, if you want to do this for training purposes, then you have this opportunity. As far as I know, in modern KA-52 coordinates are corrected even if the INU and GPS are operating normally Enjoy the game, gentlemen! 1 Support ED Forum https://forum.dcs.world/forum/323-stone-sky/ Support Discord https://discord.com/invite/vtySPKuERg Support Patreon https://www.patreon.com/c/StoneSky Support Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stone1sky Support Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Q..._as=subscriber
Talvid Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 On this note, I wonder how the ME setting for the unit regarding the 2022 or the 2011 model affects INU drift. VR rig -
STONE SKY Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) To be honest, I didn’t delve into the details. There was no INU drift in the 2011 version, it seems to me In ME you can disable INU disruption, or disable the alignment at the beginning of the mission. Or turn everything on, and this will add an extra 30 minutes to the mission for you)) Edited December 7, 2023 by STONE SKY 1 Support ED Forum https://forum.dcs.world/forum/323-stone-sky/ Support Discord https://discord.com/invite/vtySPKuERg Support Patreon https://www.patreon.com/c/StoneSky Support Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stone1sky Support Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Q..._as=subscriber
