Anyone here have one? Used one before? Curious of your thoughts. I use a 32:9 49” ultrawide right now. I have no problems with it. Just thinking of trying something different. Going back to a 16:9 will be tough, Ultrawide gaming is great when supported.  I have other LG oled tv’s in the house but this piqued my interest with the anti-glare coating. I love it on my current monitor as I have a bunch of highly reflective RC planes and a window behind me. Not worried about burn in. My pc never stays on if I’m not there using it. Don’t need tv features or sound.. Curious more if its g-sync compatibility works good. Are images still nice and crisp (oled crisp) with the anti-glare? A recent firmware update is said have given the  option to turn off local dimming. Where I sit in my “pit”/desk  I wouldn’t want any larger. Any thoughts are welcome

I have one of those. It’s fantastic! Seriously the best screen I can imagine technology creating. The size is a life saver for working all day from home on it too because it’s so much less strain than looking up close all day. It’s like sitting in a full size cockpit. I will say the size is really just about the biggest you could sit on a desk and not be looking up at it. But it works perfectly since the stand is so short, the center of the screen is level with my eyes,  you don’t need it to adjust upwards for sure. OLEDs are so thin but a TrackIR and a web cam will still fit on it. The advantage of 16:9 is it’s just bigger vertically, it would take a huge ultrawide to give you the same screen height as a 32” monitor which now seems terribly small. And it’s only $699 on Amazon now! Wow.

Great to hear! It seemed to check all the boxes. Since the original post, I ordered it while eating dinner😂 I figured, no loss.If I don’t like it, I can return it. I’ve had the ultra wide for years. It was tough to get used to but now it’s just normal as can be.  However I also want to move a ps5 and xbox into the gaming area and one thing I really can’t stand is a 16:9 game on  the ultrawide, super annoying lol I think transitioning to the narrower field of view will be okay. Productivity wise there’s still plenty of screenspace to run multiple programs when I’m working on Helios stuff or working on the cad programs for CNC things. Wanted to try something different and it seemed a good choice😃 Also hard to pass up the price.

Oh I do CAD drawings on it for work and the size and sharpness are just awesome. The size did not prove to be awkward for a monitor. That was my only suspicion. Again it’s literally the biggest you could put on a desk without it being too big. You might want it far away at the back with a keyboard tray extending out front or something. Or even wall mount would be cool.

I will wall mount it. I have the 49” on a cantilever mount so i can pull it close for dcs, so the curved screen actually has some effect ( so I think). With the VKB stick mount and helios monitor mounted to it, I sit fairly far away anyway and the hotas mounts never leave the desk. I think it will be perfect even back against the wall about 36” away. Then I can pull it closer if I want for dcs.

A feature which seems funny at first is that it comes with a remote. You quickly realize you need this because it will likely be set too far away to reach easily.

You know I did see the big funky remote lol .. does it go into standby like a regular monitor when there’s no inputs? (I’m hoping so when using display port) I never actually turn my monitors off, I just let the pc control them .

Right. It turns on and off like a normal monitor.

FedEx finally dropped it off at 8:45PM.. Set it up.. WOW..🤩 Love it! I already don’t miss the ultrawide. I even turned down some graphics in DCS and it still looks better than the 5120x1440. DLSS on balanced even with sharpening at 1 and nothing is blurry in the mid range ( not compared to the other one anyway). Good timing too, checked today and the price went back up to $1499.. but.. after just using it for a couple hours, I think it’s worth $1499. My room is fairly dim  so screen brightness is only at 35%. That should be real easy on those pixels 😉 Very impressed with how crisp it is with the anti-glare coating/ film ( whatever it is).

What’s amazing on the OLED is that the blacks are completely black. Try a night mission on it!

Yeah I got mine on sale too for $1,000. Score 👍

A funny thing you’ll notice on an OLED is the pixel shifting where the menus way up against the edge of the screen will move noticeably when that happens. No big deal really.

Another drawback is the low WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) you may experience a reaction like WFT is that?! Why do you need such a big screen?!  Don’t worry they’ll get over it quickly and then the problem will be them using your PC all the time to go shopping.

I love OLEDS, I have a 77” LG in my living room and it’s great…. WAF.. I told her when it showed up (obviously). She asked if I REALLY needed that. I said well, no but it was on sale for 50% off. She said oh thats a good deal but thats still  the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen you buy…. I call that a win 😂 she’s very supportive of my childish ways lol She actually took my truck to Costco one day and showed up at home with that 77” out of the blue. I was drooling over it every time we went for a few months . Don’t worry, when I get big toys she puts me to work remodeling some part of the house lol

@Tzigy @MadKreator Wow! Watch out! I might have damaged the screen dusting it and getting a static charge. No idea how this happened. It’s still under warranty and they’ll repair is but I can’t do without it for that long. Good thing they’re on sale for $800 off 😁

Oh no! I will be cautious, thank you for the heads up. If they’re on sale again, it’s tempting to just buy another one😂 Such a great monitor!

Yeah I just bought another one. I’ll sell the refurbished one on eBay and probably break even.

Oh sure don’t use paint thinner or gasoline on the screen 😆

I don’t see anything here about static or such, I just used a dry microfiber cloth. Weird…

I wonder what would cause that. It’s not a damage to the surface, it’s inside. There wasn’t some cleaning product accidentally left on the cloth or anything. And although it sorta looks like wiping marks I don’t think it is. The marks aren’t circular like rubbing would make. But it’s too much of a coincidence this appeared right after cleaning it.

I use a regular ol microfiber as well to dust it. If I have a fingerprint or something. I spray glass cleaner on the microfiber just to moisten it a tint bit. I’ve been cleaning tv’s this way for many years, as long as I can remember for myself a ones I install for customers. 🤷‍♂️ Happy they’re on sale again, tempting but my wife would prob kill me since I just bought a third laser engraver😂

And now the streaks are gone! Wow that’s strange. I was wondering if somehow this was related to its pixel cleaning process.
