Rolds Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 A fair bit of mission editing time gets spent setting up frequencies, tacan stations, AWL, ICLS, etc and then putting it in the mission briefing or writing it on the map so users know what the frequencies are. Could this be automated in two ways? 1. Tankers could automatically get unused frequencies, tacan channels, etc assigned. Maybe other units also. 2. This information could automatically be filled in to the mission briefing for that coalition. This would be an amazing help. 3
Exorcet Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Providing radio info automatically to the kneeboard would be great. It should have a checkbox on a per group basis to avoid over saturation in complex missions and to control for mission design - example if you have a mission with a defector plane and it gets set as a friendly relative to the player, you wouldn't want that info automatically available before hand. Automatically setting frequencies I find less appealing, especially with all the different modules and their radio settings, but as long as manual entry remains that can be worked out. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
twistking Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I feel this should automnatically populate the kneeboard, like @Exorcet said, but instead of the mission designer, the actual players should have control over what info will appear in their kneeboard by editing the kneeboard as part of a feature of the upcoming DTC/mission planner. So the mission planner would automatically offer all the info that might be useful by scraping the mission data and the player could just select sets of elements to include or ignore. 2 My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original

That is a good point, adding something like notebook functionality, or the ability to curate all provided info, to the planner would be a good idea. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
