-0303- Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Is it just me seeing this? ~~~ Turned yellow after the October 19 Beta update "DCS 2.9.0.46801 Open Beta" "Updated cockpit textures" I believe. Recycling old screenshot from November. Latest version "DCS Open Beta 2.9.1.48335" still yellow. minty1fighter Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 your not the only one, i thought it was just the lighting or my settings but it looks yellow to me too
-0303- Posted December 9, 2023 Author Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) It's green in the DCS Spitfire manual. It's green in my video from 2021. Pilots notes says green: Pilots notes, IX, XI & XVI Quote 14. Undercarriage indicators (a) Electrical visual indicator.—The electrically operated visual indicator (2) has two semi-transparent windows on which the words UP on a red background and DOWN on a green background are lettered; the words are illuminated according to the position of the undercarriage. Not just me ... Recycling NineLine's screenshots from the "oil dilution" thread. Art-J Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) I think when 2.9 was released and broke boost gauge, altimeter and compass, players were just more concerned with getting these critical instruments fixed in timely manner. Gear indicator was only a cosmetic nuissance by comparison. Still, now that we've got instruments sorted, it's worth reporting indicator well. Tried to look at various known onboard videos of restored Spits being flown, but they all either have the indicator inop, or use different type of it. Googling for the indicator itself seem to confirm this version should most likely be red over green indeed.
