SmolPener Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 I have been chasing a stuttering issue for ages. Framerate was consistent, but subjectively it was stuttering and generally janky. Looking out of the side of the plane was just sickening with the amount of stop and go stuttering. I launched the game in non-MT, (or ST I guess) and it's silky smooth! I don't understand why, but there it is. I loaded same mission in MT and non-MT many times for my own sanity and for sure MT stutters like mad. The real downside to this is that I don't seem to be able to use DLSS in non-MT. I am running an 11600k, 32GB RAM and 4060Ti. VR with a Valve Index.
Gryzor Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Try to switch off CIV TRAFFIC and let me know. Previously I had Valve Index and solved those stutterings by turn off CIV traffic.
SAM77 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) Thank you. I just got back into DCS. Was running a GTX1060 3Gb card and settings were on medium-low. I had stutters but I thought it was just my old gpu being the culprit. Well I went and got a RTX4060 8Gb card and chucked it in today. To my disappointment it wasn't the big jump I was expecting and the stutters seemed really bad compared to the GTX 1060. I looked around on the forum and someone mentioned setting the cpu affinity removed the stutters in MT. I tried it out by unchecking the cpu 0 box. No more stutters and now I can use DLSS. Game looks/runs great even on my very old i5 cpu. Hope it helps.
