BarTzi Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) When I assign a nearby Hornet driver as a team member, it seems like the change to the team's structure is only local (he gets the letter B on my end, but I don't appear as A on his end). Should it sync? Edited December 16, 2023 by BarTzi
Solution Harker Posted December 15, 2023 Solution Posted December 15, 2023 The relevant info I've found does not indicate that setting someone as a Member should do anything for them. This is you, selecting a PPLI to display as MEMB2, in this case. Even if there was syncing, the only way for their jet to know you're actually MEMB1 (instead of 3 or 4), is to be able to sync the entire group. As I understand it, each pilot can set their MEMB list as they want. The Lead can also be distinguished by marking themselves as a Lead in the TGT DATA page, which will show an "L" next to their PPLI (that way, other flights can see all leads, and better keep track of different flights). The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. I presume that's not in DCS yet? That would be a really nice functionality to have for sure!

It is synced when the group is pre-set in the ME. Should we be able to achieve the same result for planes that are not grouped by the mission editor (just theoretically, I know it's probably not implemented yet)?

In that case I'd say it's synced because it is set for each aircraft via the mission editor. It's "synced" by the editor in a sense, but only because the editor sets it that way, it's not really getting synced. WAG but I'd think in the plane it correct as is because the complexity of syncing in flight. What would be the hierarchy of whose setup get used: Lead, then 2, then 3, then 4 if the higher one doesn't have? Or whoever the most recently changed set up is? But if you sync 2's settings and 4 already had it set up differently does it overwrite 4's settings and then he has no idea or assumes something different to what it is actually now? I do find it a little confusing to keep track of if I assign in flight (esp since you can't make lead "A") so having the LEAD option in Tgt Data would be awesome. Edited December 16, 2023 by rob10
