getting ready to build dcs only pc

Solidigm is a subsidiary/brand from SK Hynix. So it's a top tier memory manufacturer putting their top tier controller in a NVMe. That's why it's so good.

And cases are in no small part personal taste. If you get a nice one, you can keep it a long time. I have very good experiences with Fractal and the Torrent is one of the best for airflow, so if you like the looks, size, etc, it's a very good choice. Not the best price/performance, but life is not just about that.

Cinebench r23= 19000 plus or minus 200

Fire Strike= 56857

 

Very happy so far. Using a Reverb g2 at the moment. I've still got tuning to do, but its nice.

It's all a matter of interest and a whole internet full of info

If you want to know, you're gonna search for answers (and find them), trick is to find good sources, but usually, the longer you dabble into something and gain experience, the easier it is to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I don't keep up with PC tech all that much anymore, but usually whenever I'm looking at upgrading a system, I tend to follow what's going on months in advance, get familiar with what's current and what's coming (because by the time I have the money, I might be able to skip forward a generation in tech), start looking at prices to determine a budget, etc.

By the time I'm up to date with my system, I also am generally up to date with the ins and outs of the tech

If you recommend this card, please make a caveat that this thing is frigging huge and might not fit every case

(Though most 4080 supers are pretty big since many have simply been outfitted with 4090 coolers)
