Has anybode got this to work with DCS?

I strted Virtual Desktop and I set SteamVR as my OpenXR runtime, but when I started DCS, I only got as far as the menu screen and it was already super stuttery. OXRTKC indicates fluctuating FPS usually below 30. fpsVR is also running and shows the CPU to be the problem here.

I have Quest  Pro and of course, normally use Quest Link Cable with Oculus being the OXR runtime.

EDIT: I use DCS standalone.

I havent tried that one, but I did try the freeware utility that just does the hands and it worked pretty much exactly like what was in his other video.  The whole concept seems ro have a lot of promise once someone really starts to natively adopt some of this stuff so it doent require so many steps to get it running.

If you are having stuttering, I would focus on troubleshooting the network connection or the graphics settings in VD/steam. Its been a week or two since I did it, so not sure which one ai actually had as the openxr runtime TBH. I did notice that the presets in VD makes everything run higher than what the Oculus app was running them when running the same frame rate setting.

Maybe I was not specific enough:

I had given VD a try before and it worked reasonably well. But I used VD with its VDXR runtime…so without the additional loop via SteamVR. To my understanding SteamVR is necessary though to get the mentioned apps (either the mixed reality or the hand tracking one) working.

So this time I used VD and then started SteamVR and then DCS which ends up completely unusable even just in the main menu.

I haven‘t even bothered yet to try the mixed reality app.

I gotcha. Yeah, I didnt have issue running both, but that’s just my experience which is only one person. I will easily admit I dunno what those applications do when it comes to what being used to open what and what is actually using openxr, etc.  For me atleast, I can only say I started DCS from the desktop and have the openxr command still in the shortcut. Was that the proper way? Not a clue.

what kind of HMD are you using? What was your process of starting DCS via virtual desktop and SteamVR?

IIRC, and don’t hold me to this 100%. Q3.  Start VD, run the hand passthrough software which also starts steam, and then I think I started DCS via the desktop shortcut, which still had the OpenXR command in it. Like I say, not sure what the runtime was actually set to at the time as I was just playing around with it trying to see if I could get the passthrough working and not paying attention to much of anything else.

I doubt it.
Also there are probably very few headsets at the consumer market level, that could actually make use of it. Only the Quest3 comes into mind…so ideally Meta would include this into their PCVR software. I made that suggestion in their forum…but well…
