I tested it and it worked. You are flying behind the leader, already near the coastline, and tuned to VHF USS Sampson - 128.540 CHANNEL 4 ARC - 186 When your leader approaches USS SAMPSON, a radio message will go off - GATLING 1-1: Two, detach. Proceed to landing - this is the trigger that should lower the railing on the ship in 10-20 seconds. An important condition here is that your leader is near the ship. If you suddenly want to try again, please send me the track. I tested it again and made some adjustments, now the trigger will react to you, not the leader. It seems more logical. Waiting for the next update, and enjoy the game! 1 Support https://forum.dcs.world/forum/323-stone-sky/ Support Discord https://discord.com/invite/vtySPKuERg Support Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stone1sky Support youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Q..._as=subscriber
subroutine Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) I did try this mission again. I get the message to detach, Proceed to landing but the railings did not lower. I also see in the middle of the screen - "Press Space - Abort Landing" just after the proceed to landing message. Not sure why that message appears but I'll wait until your update is live before trying this mission again. Edited November 8 by subroutine
Athlon Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Is there a problem with the TOP SECRET mission. I've tried it several times now. Each time the lead Blackhawk explodes on mission start up. The mission start up sequence proceeds and 1.1 takes off. I take off and fence in. 1.1 just orbits W01 all the time and the mission fails to continue.
SizzlepopBACON Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I may be silly and if I am, please let me know. Mission two, task one where you need to land on the destroyer, I find my apache rolling forward on its wheels when I touch down. The first time it happened, I had forgotten to lock my tail wheel and apply parking brake again after takeoff, so I assumed that was why. But the second time I tried, I did both of those things and my aircraft still rolled forward, despite the parking brake being applied. It was a slow roll but even full cyclic aft and full wheel brakes did not arrest it and I bonked the nose into the back of the destroyer, and smacked the crap out of my main rotor... After flying that 45km flight at 100knots twice, ending with a buggy crash, I didn't have it in me to try a third time that night, so I looked around for a bit after to see if that was a known bug or something but couldn't find anything. That's making me think I did something so any tips would be appreciated. Trim was neutral on touchdown btw. Thanks! 1

I tested it just now and it seems like the wheel brakes should be sufficient. My Apache is standing still! Try some practice on a simple mission with Arleigh Burke to make sure you're doing it right. Maybe your collective isn't lowered enough. Please send the track here so we can take a look at it. In the meantime I've got another thing to throw at you... Mission 5 - the attack on Al-Tanf, there seems to be a discrepancy between the map in the briefing material and where things are in-game. Particularly, the in briefing page that shows the location of waypoints 1-4 and the target area, the target circle seems to be moved south-east, further down the road of the actual in-game location. I'll attach a photo of both for your comparison. The first photo I attached is what is seen in the kneeboard/tablet thing and in the briefing (both in-game and in the doc file), and the second is the dcs F10 menu during the mission. I don't use F10 much when I'm flying single player cuz immersion, but I pulled it up after I died wondering where the heck the targets were, because I was searching based on the briefing material. In blue I circled where the briefing told me Al-Tanf was, and in red I circled the actual location of Al-Tanf in dcs... Weirdly enough, the briefing material seems to have a thinner circle over where Al-Tanf actually is, but the large "TG" circle is off by a bit. Just thought I'd bring to your attention in case its a mistake of some kind. If its intended, just ignore me! Thanks again, the missions are a blast so far.

In fact, the TG circle area is an assumed location for the hostile. I intended for Al-Tanf to be in the center of the circle, but based on your observation (it is correct), the center of the circle is indeed shifted, about 100-300 meters. During the flight, you need to navigate by TSD, and external landmarks, coordinates, and so on. The briefing picture is essentially a slide, cobbled together in a tent, to give the pilot an initial idea of the future mission. At this scale of the map, it is difficult to talk about accuracy. But in any case, on the F-10 map you will always find every hostile unit. Bladigan Posted December 11 Posted December 11 Hello. I have seen this campaign is available for both Mi-24P and AH-64D. I am not sure which one to choose because I own and like both of them. Are the missions identical in the 2 campaigns for or they have nothing to do? 1

These are completely different missions and plots. Outpost Mi-24 describes important battles of the Syrian and Russian army, Outpost Apache is a completely different plot and other missions for the Syrian Democratic Forces (Kurds) and the Coalition forces. It's a series.
