Shrubbo Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Wrong forum but I am sure it will be moved very shortly. The TrackIR software will detect the sim automatically.... That is assuming you have also updated the GAMES list for TrackIR as well. Click "Update", then "Check for game updates" on the TrackIR GUI and you should be right. Unless it is something else but a lot of these problems are answered by that one. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Be sure to run the update-function from within the TrackIR-Software, as Shrubbo posted: It's found in the main window, menu-bar under Update. Choose "Check for Game Updates..." to load the latest files. They are not all included with the software. Quit TrackIR completely and restart. For further instructions, how to set up your TrackIR check out my reply to a similar thread a few weeks ago: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=645864&postcount=2 If you still have problems or questions, feel free to PM me. coolts Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Quick point. I had the same hassle. My trackIr software wouldn’t update no matter what, so, go to the naturalpoiont website and download the latest game deffs manually. Install and restart trackIr. Make sure DCS: Black Shark appears in your game list. It should start first time. Oh, and make sure to remap the 'recenter and enable' trackIr function keys if you ever plan to use the wingman menu in DCS as it uses F9 and F12 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals

Feuerfalke Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 There are also alternatives to TrackIR. Check out Urzes site for more information: http://www.leftside-limited.com/projects.html look for free track ;) Gigabyte GA-Z87-UD3H | i7 4470k @ 4.5 GHz | 16 GB DDR3 @ 2.133 Ghz | GTX 1080 | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | Creative X-Fi Ti | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win10 64 HP | X-Keys Pro 20 & Pro 54 | 2x TM MFD
Yskonyn Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Great news it worked out in the end for you, gunslinger! ;) Free Track might be a hassle to get up to working, though. I've used it for some time with IL-2, but it was rather jerky. It all depends on the refreshrate of your webcam. Track IR has a very high refreshrate and will give smoother and more direct performance, but admittedly that comes with a price. I never regretted getting one for myself, though. It's truely plug and play I haven't had to tweak a single setting with any game yet. Raikov eventhough its not required to play DCS maybe you can find an online shop who whill ship to your country, or maybe NaturalPoint itself. If you're willing to shell out the cash I would seriously consider doing some research to see wether you can get your hands on a TIR. It causes you to have a much better Situational Awareness in game and besides its just plain cool! :) Beware though, if you're more of the casual gamer/simmer type it might be too expensive regarding cost vs using it. Of course all that only stands if you can get your hands on it... Good luck! Lav69 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Surely there is a country near you that sells Track IR and can ship it to you.

Unfortunately there isnt a country near me that sells it I live in south africa and would require for me to get it from EU or US. And i have spend alot of money on shipping products that just didnt make it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] __________________
Big_les Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I'm using Freetrack. Apart from it sometimes unsetting the option to output to "Freetrack" and "TrackIR" (both of which I need ticked to get it to work usually - easily solved by pausing, alt-tabbing, and reticking those boxes), it works just fine. Really helps with the cockpit workload, not to mention HMS employment. And it doesn't affect FPS very much either, at least not on a quad core 4gb pooter. I recommend it - although it took HOURS to set up the curves, sensitivities and other options.
Yskonyn Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Too bad the shipping costs might make the deal too expensive, but some online webshops have a fixed price world-wide shipping fee. It might be worth searching a bit on the net. I just can't believe there's a seller somewhere out there who couldn't make you a fair deal. Lav69 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 maybe you live in wrong country ;) That's a pretty ignorant response. Too bad the shipping costs might make the deal too expensive, but some online webshops have a fixed price world-wide shipping fee. It might be worth searching a bit on the net. I just can't believe there's a seller somewhere out there who couldn't make you a fair deal. Yeah and get shipping insurance. Track IR is worth it.
