joey45 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 in about 9 -10 months time and yes. p.s. there is a thread of some sorts here about it. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. EtherealN Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 No release date yet, but plan is about 9 months or so. That can change. Yes, it's a full-price stand-alone game, however it is intended to be multiplayer compatible with Black Shark. 33 309th_Hedgehog Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If it will be released in 9 Month then it should be nearly finished by now. So, ED should know if it is compatible with BS. Why does everybody say: ... it is intended to be multiplayer compatible with Black Shark. Aren't there no new informations available about that issue? Yskonyn Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Black Shark has just been released and is going to be released in the US very shortly. Do you mind ED focussing on delivering BS properly before moving on to the Hog? ;) The plans are there and a little search gives you all info that's available. Just wait patiently for what's coming. If all goes as planned we will get the A-10 which will be compatible with Black Shark. Why does everybody say: Aren't there no new informations available about that issue? No, it shouldn't be "nearly finished" by now. Judging by screens that are released a lot of it is indeed relatively close to finishing, but there's nothing saying you have to be pretty much done 9 months before release. In fact, talk to any games developer and ask them what "crunch" is. In software engineering there is a law that says that the first 90% of the job takes 90% of the time, and the last 10% of the job take another 90% of the time. :P As for new information, the last information I recall basically re-iterated that the intention is to have it be multiplayer compatible but there are some problems with the implementation. What the exact problems are I don't know. Chibawang Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Problems? I never read about that, I've only read statements that neither confirm nor deny that future modules are definately going to be multiplayer compatible, but it was also said in an interview that they did this as a precautionary measure only to avoid making promises in case something should go wrong in the development cycle. Do you have a link? It would be troubling to know they've already had a hitch in the plans...
EtherealN Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Chibawang, it might actually be the same statements we are recalling, but just me misrecalling slightly. GGTharos Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 No one mentioned any problems. Chizh said that there are technical challenges that might get in the way, but the plan still is and always has been to make all the modules inter-playable. EtherealN Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Yup, that's probably the one. So I misrecalled, apologies guys. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
