PawlaczGMD Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 The visuals in DCS look really off when looking at terrain. I observe weird shimmering/flickering of textures. It also looks too bright, even though my gamma is lowered. The cockpit looks great and I don't observe such an effect inside the aircraft. It also doesn't appear on the mirrored VR view on my monitor, where things look normal. Does anyone else experience this kind of effect? Any ideas?
jaapgrolleman Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Does it appear in VR or also on the monitor? If possible could you screenshot it?

Only in VR, monitor looks good. I can try taking a video of the lens picture, but the effect is subtle enough that I doubt it would be helpful. It almost looks like Low Framerate Compensation that can show up on some types of screens with low FPS, I will try to see if it is related to framerate. Do you think it's possible? AMD GPU here if it matters. 72 Hz mode in Pimax.
PawlaczGMD Posted February 25, 2024 Author Posted February 25, 2024 OK, I think this effect was caused either by lack of / insufficient antialiasing, or by the framerate being too low for the Crystal display to cope with. I have switched on FSR, which also mandates TAA, and the weird effect is gone, for the price of some ghosting.
jaapgrolleman Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Ok that's good to hear! Will make a mental note for future people with this problem. 1
