The english site now says that the addon is unoffical. Guess that just means that it is not supported by Ubisoft. Still bit strange...

I'm guessing that it's a Ubisoft / ED bust-up that's forced them to do it... anyone have further information?

Only a guess but by stating it is an unofficial addon Ubisoft get nothing from it, if it was an official addon then you can bet Ubisoft would be after their cut?

In a way UBI is certainly makeing money on the addon.....

To get 1.1 you need to have Lockon installed......

Well I've been checking out the stores here in my area and Lockon is appearing on the shelves again......

It carries a 20.00 USD price tag but thats still higher than IL 2 (the first version) or Ace Expansion Pack which are priced at 10.00 USD each......

Ubisoft dropped Lomac a while ago. They didn't pay for the development of v1.1, they aren't paying to distribute it, they aren't getting any money from it.

Flaming Cliffs is now a joint venture between Eagle Dynamics and 1C . . . . always the case in Russia, but leaves us in a difficult spot for the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, however, Ubisoft still legally own the rights to the Lock On brand name in the West. The original contract allowed ED to bring out one independent addon . . . . . where this will leave us for future developments of Lomac is still unclear.

Official, Unofficial does not matter. What matter is when we are going to get this add-on. Personally I am really getting fed up with waiting! :?

The actual software has been ready for a while - what's been holding us back for the last few weeks has been the problem of copy protection.

All that fuss about StarForce kind of held things back . . . . . ED seems to have looked at the alternatives and complained to StarForce themselves, and now seem satisfied by what they're offering. StarForce is finalised, the software's ready.

So the answer is . . . . . soon

Thanks for the update bgp but we've been hearing soon since Jan lol. Chirstmas is coming soon too.

All shit stirring aside, i'm grateful for ED to take the time to listen to what we want, this is a very rare trait to see in businesses these days. They definately have my support.
