Glide Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 (edited) After the update, I thought I would give Smart Smoothing another try. I settled on a very simple set of settings. Nothing in PimaxXR. Headset 120hz, Maximum, Smart Smoothing Enabled. Very important, set the Max FPS to 60 in Game Settings. Also, the only thing in the NCP setting is Low Latency = On. With these settings below, on my 3080Ti, with DLSS Ultra Performance, I got an absolutely perfect mission in the Viper. My VRAM usage was about 66%. I still have to test my Apache missions. Just to add, this worked great with the Apache and Night Vision. There is another way to achieve the 60fps lock, and that's Compulsive Smoothing in PimaxXR. I played around with both, and it seems stable with both. I then enabled Quadviews again, and I did see some strange "vsync-like" flashes across the screen now and then, but otherwise, very stable fight. Still, I came back to: Headset: 120hz, Balanced, No Smart Smoothing Nothing in NCP. DLAA in game settings. Turbo Mode On, Eye Tracking and Quadviews On in PimaxXR. Edited February 25, 2024 by Glide

This causes CPU clogging, which is good at the beginning, but FPS becomes worse over time. This is described by mbuccia himself. I don't recommend this in DCS. Its a separate topic about Quad view. Maybe this 22.02 solved this issue for DCS. Before it was present. The slowdown over cities in Quad views is resolved for me by disabling terrain shadows. Well worth it to have that smooth locked 90fps at 200% SS and other settings turned up. I suspect all the shadows from so many buildings push the CPU too far combined with the CPU demands of Quad views. On 2/24/2024 at 2:34 AM, YoYo said: Beware of DFR / Quad views over cities. Disabling seems like a massive concession to me, but what do I know. Especially since there is now flat shadow blur
