RACE07, GTR Evolution, STCC (these three can be combined into one) as well as other SIMBIN products are the best racing titles for pc. SIMBIN is preparing new Need For Speed edition now, called

"NFS Shift".

But still the best F1 sim is CTDP mods (F1 2005 and F1 2006) for rFactor.

True! The SimBin titles are very nice. GTR Evo was a nice step upward from GTR 2 in terms of sound and graphics, although I really miss the driver's school.

Wow! Didn't know RACE ON is planned to be released on pc. I thought it's a RACE07 for the consoles! Great news! It will include US Muscles and STCC wich I haven't buy yet 'cuz in Poland I can only download it from Steam - there's no STCC DVD version to buy. Now with RACE ON and free GTR2convertion mod the sim will become ultimate racing sim as rFactor is now. I will only miss F1 here.

afraid not, i read somewhere that those are "artwork" pictures and have been shopped so they dont represent any updates to the gfx engine :-(

I hope you are wrong because the graphics for me didn't seem that "nice" but the reflections on the track were interesting so I did some more reading about the engine...

From...

http://www.simbin.se/main/technology.htm

Rendering Engine

* Support for both HDR and LDR rendering.

* Full use of hardware shaders.

* DX9 and Xbox 360 compatible.

* Cascaded shadow maps with smooth edges utilizing percentage closer filtering (PCF).

* Advanced per-pixel lighting model with support for dynamic time of day and fully dynamic shadows.

* Real-time reflections.

* Dynamic ambient occlusion.

* Advanced post processing pipeline (for example; full screen motion blur and bloom).

* Static PVS.

* Animation with skinning.

* Deformable meshes.

* Undergrowth system.

* Weather effects.

So I see no reason why a state of the art engine shouldn't do those graphics. Anyway like I said I hope you are actually incorrect else I won't be real impressed with the bling.
