RightStuff Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) I'm experiencing still problems starting the game in single-player. In multi-player the game starts windowed and I'm able to jump into the cockpit. When starting the game (Desktop-Icon) the launcher.exe opens a white window with a gray rectangle in the upper right corner and on the bottom "loading..." ist readable and music is playing. Then the window closes and nothing more happens. Dr. Watson ist writing a bunch of (for me) unreadable data. I'll provide these file (user.dmp) and the logfile if neccessary. My system: 1. Processor: AMP X2 64 4800+ 2. Motherboard: Asus M2N-E 3. RAM: 2x 1 GB DDR2-800 4a. Video Card: PCIe Gainward Geforce 9600GT, 512MB 4b. Driver version: 182.50 WHQL for WinXP 32bit 8. Operating System: WinXP SP3, 32bit 9. DirectX version: 9.0c (installed from BS-DVD) Any ideas?NVIDIA System Information 04-11-2009 10-46-24.txt Edited April 11, 2009 by RightStuff
RightStuff Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Meanwhile I tracked the problem a little bit down: Starting BS as Adminstrator works! Starting BS as User (even with Admin-rights) shows the well known, white window and then exits. I noticed, when starting as Admin, the black loading screen with the Ka-50 almost instantly pops up. Not even a fraction of a second a white window ist visible. Regarding the output of Dr.Watson, the first failure could therefore be somewhere in the OpenGL, but I have no clue where the difference between OpenGL as 'Admin' and as 'User' is. Is there anywhere a tab or program hidden, which shows OpenGL-settings or anything else related to OpenGL? Like 'dxdiag'?
RightStuff Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Thanks for the extensive help. Solved my problem meanwhile... As assumed: caused by OpenGL.
