Hey y'all. Is there a list out there somewhere that has what aircraft can be at what airport? Something like, Damascus. These MIG's or SU's can be there, etc. Kind of annoying having to select a type plane then take off from ramp and it moves airports on me. Just trying to simplify this some.

Even something I can find in a LUA file that I can view to see what is placeable.

AFAIK, all aircraft can take off any airport. Can you describe what you are doing to get different results?

Just trying to place different aircraft in the mission editor. I don't use static birds because I want the boom and points LOL So, I set them uncontrollable with ordinance. How ever, when trying to place some aircraft and set to take off from parking, it'll move the aircraft to another airport all together. Example, a TU-22 at Damascus. I click on say a pad, I don't have a number off hand. Aircraft appears. I select take off from parking. It moves to a different parking pad at Beirut-Rafic Hariri airport.

Somewhere in the terrain files, probably in the AirfieldsTaxiways folder, defines all of the parking spots at each airbase. Parking availability is dependent on the length, width, and height of the parking spot and of the aircraft selected.

There is a https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/DCS_func_getParking function but it doesn't return the dimensions and the "term type" returned isn't exactly reliable to know the size of parking.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

I think the only restrictions would be on the really big planes (like B-52's) where there are no large enough parking spots for them.  Other than that everything should be fair game.

I would think that too rob10 but for some reason, not all airports are created equally.

I see in the files all the airfields have a file but they are rn4 and rn 5 files. I have no clue what those are or what to open them with.

Parking for large aircraft at most airfields is just wrong. In DCS each parking space is given a designated set of dimensions. If the wingspan of the aircraft you are trying to place is too large for that space or all of the spaces at the airfield it will move it to the closest airfield that it can fit at. I don't think there's a comprehensive list anywhere. It's all trial and error. Last I checked there wasn't a single airfield on the Syria map that DCS will allow a C-5 to park at, despite multiple real-life airfields allowing C-5 operation.
