Hot Starts?

Recommended Posts

Why have Hot Start missions? There’s a cheat command to just auto-start the aircraft for anyone who doesn’t want to do this manually. You can even combine this with time acceleration if you don’t want to wait. So it never makes sense to put hot starts into a mission.

Kinda agree with you but lots of users ask for this

Don’t they know there’s a key command for this? 🤦‍♂️at some point you need to stop designing things for the lowest common denominator…

I think this is the only DLC campaign I’ve ever seen with hot starts.

Yes, agree hot start is total unnecessary. Above all, the first mission is followed by the first mission - HOT START. So basically you have to fly twice the same mission to progress.

Simply use SKIP to move to next mission in campaign 👍

This really is one of my favourite campaigns ATM. AS I am playing without track ir atm, and I am "barely new" to dcs -> it is good to have labels. I first cursed that no damage was shown BUT this campaing made me put myself sometimes labels away (ok I admit I have to use em just to see something, have old computer and graphs have to be pretty messed out to "medium" more or less in everything.) But the idea of "getting the fire to the right area" is great I think. Ok there is littlebit of "rush" of doing things right, but afterall that has been only good for me. Also had "bad habit" to put hornet just full of jsows and PEWPEW everything, so I also cursed the triggers in wpns, but that has also done only good. Afterall this makes player use myriad of weapons, and IMO keeps nice lvl somehow of "confusion". It has been really great pratice for me, as this varies from other campaings in many ways (mentioned above more or less, ofc they are just examples). I also like when somebody tries something fresh, and I think that "destroy the correct things" has done good for me. Also havent encountered ANY errors whatsoever in any "cycle" of updates of DCS or campaing itself. Have few campaings, weirdly all with hornet + persian gulf map, that nowdays are unplayable IF i dont make new user / clear logbook everytime. This campaing works as intented. I dont mind of skipping the missions. I am not a specialist by any means with msn editor / campaing creator tools of DCS-> but was wondering, could that hotstart be made with somekind of "if this mission is done first the go to these missions". Maby the easiest way would just be make "two" campaings, like there is ones with "supercarrier" and "no supercarrier" versions of campaings? But still, this is great campaing as it works. I truly recommend this for ppl who have learned to fly hornet, have done some missions. This gets one in action and follow the mission brief itself. The radio calls are clear "what to do". I just played wild weasel campaing with f-16, and had to learn airforce sead language to play it. OFC that is not bad either, but I like more in SP when things are clear, as one cannot confirm / say again as in MP etc.
