Guymed Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Um, hey. I'm going to get DCS: Black Hawk for my PC, but it's specs are below minimum requirements. Here, I'll tell you it's specs (some of them), CPU: 1.79GHz, Memory: 2.37GB (not below), Graphics Card: 128MB ATI RADEON. Will the game still work on my PC? I really want to play this game because it is the only helicopter combat game I can find.
EtherealN Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Ouch. It might load, but if it does it will only be an epic of frustration. You can get yourself a DCS-capable system for some 500 dollars US though if you look around. Guymed Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Dang. I guess I can't play the game. I don't have 500 bucks layin' around ya know
Airway Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I tried running and tweaking Black Shark on my Athlon XP 2400+ with 1 GB RAM and an ATI X800 GTO with 256MB RAM. OS was XP. Well, it doesn't run very good and it isn't playable in Multiplayer or more complex missions. You need to upgrade to a better system and it doesn't need to cost 500 bucks. You can save money by assembling it on your own with a little knowledge and taking care while doing it.
EtherealN Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 lol, yeah, 50 bucks is a bit on the low end for a new system. Time to try saving up for a new gaming rig, I guess. Best of luck and hope you find a way - it's too good a sim to miss out on. hitman Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Im willing to bet you can go find yourself a Geforce 7800, an ATi x1900, or maybe even a low end Geforce 8600 and get it playing just fine. If it can play Lock On just fine, it would play Black Shark just fine. Hell, I know ppl who play Black Shark on an AMD Athalon XP 2600+ w/ 1gb pc-3200 ram and on an ATi x800. If that doesnt tell you anything, it should tell you that you would be surprised with what you can run something on. Just dont expect mind blowing performance.
KaBoom Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 my specs are:- 2X Opteron 2Ghz 2GB DDR 256 MB 6800 Gt water cooled and OC 420 Mhz It's no where near enough to run Black Shark during battles so stay well clear of minimum requirements its ok performance for learning basics but not during combat. I would say Black shark needs a 3Ghz pentium 4 or above and 512 MB series 8 card. I would upgrade mine but it all needs upgrading so im holding out till I can afford a new build.
