LastRifleRound Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 DVD boxed version picked up today, installed on my desktop machine (P4 3.0 Ghz ATI Radeon X1300) and I'm actually running with acceptable frame rates for most scenarios  Anywho, I had a couple questions that you might want to add to the awesome FAQ evilbivol threw up in the sticky section: 1.) Suppose I don't want to wait for the printed manual (going to buy anyway of course), what is the best option for getting the sucker printed out myself at Kinko's, etc? How much can I expect it to cost? 2.) Are there any tweak guides available to maximize FPS? Sticky posts, etc.? I did not see any and I could definitely use one! That's it for now. I'm just pumped the thing worked right out of the box! I ran Lock On no problem whatsoever, so I should have figured as much, but you never know!
EtherealN Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 There's a massive amount of threads on #1, but I don't think ED would be interested in telling people to get alternatives to their products. It doesn't really make sense to be in the middle of releasing their printed manual and at the same time make guides to contacting 3rd part printers on your own... On FPS, the big things are to not run in windowed mode, and to not put water on High. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's not a multicore processor, right? If they made a multicore P4 (I was over at the AMD camp back then) and you run Vista or W7 on it, search the forum for DCSMax. hitman Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The old P4 chips were single core, some had a poor method of hyperthreading. IIRC, it was the second chip after the pentium 3 was on the way out. Technically, it was the first chip to run stock at 2.4ghz.
