white screen?

help i keep geting a white menu screen on start up? :huh: is it a bug?

There is a "Problems and Bugs" forum as well as a search function. Both are meant to be used.

 

Every time I've seen it mentioned, it has turned out to be a problem with the ATI driver package. If you do indeed use an ATI card, disable Catalyst AI. If you still have no luck, rollback to the 8.12 driver package.

What makes you think it's an ATI card related problem? he could have an nvidia card as far as you know.

 

I have 9.4 running, CatAI set to low, and i never get any of these problems with any driver sets :huh:

Oh ok, can you show me an instance of this? a thread? might be something for ATI to look into :)

 

BTW HELKILLER, what is your hardware config?

There's massive amounts of threads about it over in the Problems and Bugs section.

 

Now, I'm not saying it is impossible for the problem to arise on nVidia cards, but it is sufficiently ATI-centric and there's been so many of these over in the problems section that my brain just goes straight to "Cat AI off and/or 8.12" and people then reply "oh awesome fixed it".

 

(Though there was a guy that just got a new problem afterwards that did leave me a bit stumped.)
