FFB Pedals (60M simpit build)

Recommended Posts

Realized I never posted here about this but a few months back I spent about 5 days designing my FFB pedals I'll be building at some point. They are based off the UH-60s pedals and will use the FFBeast firmware to run it. This is the first model I've actually put time into learning F360 for. What do yall think?(need validation in my life lmao)

Will use gas struts and linear transducers for brake force and readings and the trim hold will be released when both pedal switches(the shiny plates on the front of the pedals) are depressed. Other than that it's just the hoverboard motor driving the FFB.

That is a crazy amount of work to get done in only 5 days! Did you sleep? One design comment, the choice of rail driven pedals is likely to result in relatively high friction / stiction. High grade bearings would alleviate this but in my experience flight sim kit gets covered in dust and grime over months of use and I'd imagine the rails to get some of this. Hopefully constructive. This looks amazing. I am looking forwards to a FF stick and once I've experienced that I'll probably be looking for FF pedals too. I'd love a way to convert my Slaw pedals.

Wow! They look amazing!👍 can‘t say anything about the constructional part. That is beyond my knowledge, but Design looks really cool!

I have pedals that use rails with linear bearing skates and have been using them for several years. No problems whatever with sticktion due to dust, etc - linear bearing skates have wipers built in.

If I disengage the springs I can make them run end to end with a tap of a finger. If this was a problem they wouldn't be ubiquitous in machine tools.
