modsat Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 (edited) Hi fellows. After recently getting a Crystal I'm looking to get back into DCS. I was toying around with the zoom functions today, and I could not find a nice setting. The 'zoom in' and 'zoom out' functions did not seem to work in VR (no response on button press). The VR-zoom works but seems very off imo. The zoom-in movement itself is kinda nauseating, but I can live with that. I would however like for the zoom to be instant. Is this possible? The bigger problem is, that when I'm zoomed in I have to hold my head absolutely still. If I move my head the whole image distorts (it's like the rendered world stretches). This feels very distracting, nauseating and immersion breaking. Takes me right out of the experience when using it. Am I doing something wrong, or is zooming while in VR just sketchy? Appreciate any input on the subject Edited April 1, 2024 by modsat
hsth Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 Hi, Crystal user here. Not having a problem with zooming. Did not have with previous VR headsets. I always use these settings in the UI Layer: null
Mk1_Trebuchet Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 The options for zoom in VR are limited to "VR Zoom" and "VR Spyglass zoom". Neither work like the zoom functions in pancake. I recall there being a way to modify the zoom level in a LUA file somewhere, but don't recall the details. modsat Posted April 1, 2024 Author Posted April 1, 2024 I Appreciate the input. I will toy around with it some more. I'm sure I'll adjust, and if not I will go hunting for that LUA solution. Cheers.
