feixingjia Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Why is the driving range of my F16 fighter jet so large, shouldn't it be force sensing? 无标题视频——使用Clipchamp制作 (2).mp4
Hiob Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 (edited) IIRC in the first lots of the original Viper, the Stick was indeed not moving at all (or barely). But by feedback from the pilots that felt unnatural and irritating and for later lots/models they gave the Stick some (limited) travel range. It is still force sensing though. Dragon1-1 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Actually, the stick on the real F-16 measures displacement via LDVT transducers, not force. However, displacement is coupled to force via a very strong bar spring, so in practice, it's like using an actual force transducer. The real Viper's stick only moves a little, but the transducers are very precise. 2
