I think in the long run you'd be happier setting up your own profile rather than learning someone else's. Do you have the profile editor installed? If so, run it, create a new profile, and start mapping! I find it's helpful to have the BS controls menu open so you can find the keystrokes required.

You might also want to get the latest beta profile editor from here: http://saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=16643

The main useful thing it adds is support for "Right Shift/Ctrl/Alt" as being separate keys to the left ones. Since Black Shark's default settings treat the left and right modifiers differently, this is very useful as it means you won't need to remap keys within BS in order to assign them to your controller.

Programming it is pretty easy, for the most part you simply click on the button you want in the profiler utility, press the key you want for it, then click on the tick mark. Type in a short name so you can identify the purpose later. Don't forget to click the "Profile now" button at the top right after you make changes.

If you want to assign axis commands, you should do it within BS. On the controls page there is a dropdown which lists different categories of controls, and one of those categories is "Axis commands" (or something similar). There you'll see all the game controls that can mapped to joystick axis, sliders, rotaries, and the throttle. You'll want to map the throttle axis to the collective within BS -- the 'throttle' is something you won't change very often.

Edit: Black Shark also has control groupings for the collective and cyclic ("INS Collective" I think) which show the buttons on the actual controls of the Ka-50. These are very good candidates for mapping to buttons on your own controllers as you'll probably be using them very often.

Hi Harry,

If it's any use to you, I don;t use an SST profile at all for Black shark, and have simply mapped each dx button and axis directly in game, as I found teh games input layout to be extremely user frindly (ie. it lays out buttons in terms of location , collective buttons, cyclic buttons etc...).

Anything not on the collective or cyclic I use the mini mouse to click in cockpit (with a few exceptions, such as laser standby, reset and start flare program)

Hi;

try my attached profile for X52 :thumbup:

Hmmm, I'm wondering if he has the X52 Pro for which your file is used. The regular X52 profiles are .dat files.

I've asked this same question about X52 files. To really set this up correctly for simulation mode, it's gonna take quite a while. Ideally, you need a profile for your X52 FCS and one for a programmable keyboard like the Logitech G series. The latter being used for the various cockpit panels.
