Spider76 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Hi, im just wondering about Black Sharks flight range so the flight range without loadout is 1160 km and with rockets & vikhr loadout it´s only 450 km or so? very dramatic drop in flight range for black shark if true  have i got this right? ::ASRock 4Core1333::Intel Quad Q6600 2.4 GHZ::OCZ DDR2 Reaper HPC Edition 4 GB::Club3D 9800GT 1GB Green Edition::Acer LCD 19":: Nexus 400W::Vista Ultimate SP2::Saitek X36F & X35T Joystick::Youtube::Spider´s Channel::Suomi-Finland :-) ::
EtherealN Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I don't recall the numbers myself, but are you certain that both numbers refer to the same thing? The first may be a ferry range, and the other an action radius. That would account for the difference. What was your source for those numbers? Hi, I don't know if the numbers are right or wrong, but surely the longest range takes into account flying with 4 fuel tanks under the wings. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
EtherealN Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Actually, Spider76, you should see the exact wording on the stats you use on your page, they hold the answer: Range: 1160km Combat Radius: 460km Range is the distance it can fly from A to B. Combat Radius is how far away a target area can be from it's base to allow the aircraft to get there, do it's job, and get back home. So it is the distance A to B for a flight that actually involves flying A to B to A. I don't know for certain if those numbers are absolutely correct and what conditions they are valid for, though. It will vary a lot with combat load and atmospheric conditions. goldfinger35 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Do you know what is the ideal speed for maximum fuel efficiency? i7 920@4.0Ghz, 12 GB RAM, ATI 4890, LG L246WHX@1920x1200, Saitek X52 Pro, Saitek pro flight rudder pedals, TrackIR4, Audigy 2ZS, Logitech G9x, Vista 64bit.
EtherealN Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Unfortunately, no. The only number like that that I remember off the top of my head is that 130km/h IAS is the most effective climb speed for altitude per minute.
