[Resolved] How to input data (coordinates/laser code) into the Jester wheel?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi all,

stupid question, but how do I enter coordinates or a laser code into the Jester wheel?

If I select lat/long it shows a field to enter everything. But how? In the Tomcat there was selectable digits around to choose from the wheel, but not in the F4.

Same with the laser code. It says enter 4-Digits, but how? No additional and selectable field appear. Keyboard doesn't work as well ...

Ok, but hitting the text box with head tracking is a bit tough...

Hope the implementation for VR comes soon.

You have to use your keyboards number keys (the ones above QWERT, not the Numpad). Virtual Keyboard is planned to come.

Any update on this, as taking off your headset to input coordinates is still a right PITA?

For @WinOrLose - if you use Voice Attack you can set up voice commands to input numbers and letters. While I don't personally use it to input numbers / letters for the Jester Wheel (at this time), I do use it to select items in the Comms Menu. Using VA would be a way to get around taking off your headset to input coords. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion but never really gelled with VA.

We have several features planned to improve on this.
From a virtual keyboard to being able to bind the numbers.
And also generally improve the UX of the text-input in the UI, in particular for VR users.
