Robi Hobby Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 They are small Errors that are not serious. The Switch on the Battery Pack ( Anvis) is not Silver but Black ( Black anodized, I would say ) And the Label for the Battery installation is missing. Once the Velcro fastener is stuck on, the Label is no longer visible. The other thing is that the Gunner has 2 x Nylon Pouches on the left side for the Lip Light. That is also wrong, there is only one. I asked a real Apache Pilot. It's the same as the HGU-56P Helmet.
ED Team Solution Raptor9 Posted June 4, 2024 ED Team Solution Posted June 4, 2024 Not all battery packs are the same, and the pack in the DCS AH-64D has a velcro patch across it hiding the label. The extra lip light battery pouch has already been reported some time ago. I'm sure they'll get to it, its just a low priority. Robi Hobby Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 With Silver Switch is from FMA Tactical Airsoft. I have both 1x Original Genuine and the 2x FMA Airsoft. Many put Velcro on it to attach Patches.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted June 4, 2024 ED Team Posted June 4, 2024 Almost every single NVG battery pack I've used in real life as a pilot has had an unpainted, silver metal switch. Some pilots attach their helmet counter weights to the back of the NVG battery pack, hence the velcro. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. Robi Hobby Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 The Original ITT Battery Pack Switch is not Painted. Black anodized , it is not a Color Paint. It would be best to speak to real US Army Black Hawk Pilots / Gunner /Crew who could tell us the right thing. Unfortunately I live in Germany.

Respectfully, I flew AH-64D's in the US Army for well over a decade. I am very familiar with what the real battery packs look like, which is the source of my previous comments explaining that not all battery packs used by US Army aviators are the same. bradmick Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I happen to know the real Apache pilot whose helmet was the reference. You’re wrong. The helmet is correct. You need to quit while you’re ahead. Imagine presuming you know more than two actual Apache pilots…. 1
Robi Hobby Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 I'm not writing about the Apache Helmet but about the Color Switch of the ITT LPBP. The Helmet is wonderfully well modeled.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted June 4, 2024 ED Team Posted June 4, 2024 If the switch in DCS was black and someone posted a bug report saying it should be silver, I would tell them the exact same thing, that both switch colors exist in the US Army inventory and that the NVG battery pack is not going to be re-done by the 3D artists over such a small, inconsequential detail that is already representative of the real thing anyway. As the original report has already been addressed, that the switch is correct and the additional lip light bag has already been reported, I'm closing this thread as it has served its purpose. There is no sense in arguing when it has already been stated by multiple people with first-hand experience with these devices that it is correct.
