RangerGav Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Hoping someone from Polychop sees this! I'd really like to see some additional bindings included in a patch at some point that would give us more options for controlling things. The major one would be SWITCH UP and SWITCH DOWN options for all toggle-type switches (especially three-position ones). Honestly, I think this should be part of EVERY module. Some of the common flight sim hardware we're using (particularly Virpil) features mostly temporary toggle switches. So, if the bindings only have an "on" or active binding for a toggle switch it doesn't work for the majority of the physical switches we have. If you're able to add bindings for "UP" and "DOWN" that allows us to cycle through the positions of each toggle switch that would be a big help! I'd also like to see an axis binding for the MMS if possible please - so if we have a mini-stick on our controls we can use that instead of a hat switch. 3
Toge Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 There are axis binds for the MMS. I don't remember exactly, but something like MMS slew vertical and MMS slew horizontal. 2

LorenLuke Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Additionally, a bind for each position of the MMS rotary (one each for off, stow, preflight, prepoint, forward, and scan). And the copilot doesn't have binds for their radio channel select hat-thing (the one the pilot has on their grip). 1
monkie Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 I assume that the reason for so many single binds is to cater to people that have "sim cockpits" with a ton of button that can be assigned, and that is fine but yes for those of us that are old school and use a lot of keyboard commands the simple toggles are a must. One work around that I have used in the AH64 especially is using the program "Joy to Key" so allow one button to cycle through multiple keystrokes, it's a life saver with the Gunner position in the Apache. For example I can cycle through all the magnifications with one single button on a gamepad controller instead of using 4 keystrokes on the keyboard. THIS! I noticed it setting up my keybinds the other day. I have the X56 (not because I'm cheap but because I'm poor ), and the switches on the base are only two way- it would be great to get the master arm switch or the position lights switch to be two clicks up for arm, one down for safe/two up for bright one down for off. This is one of my few gripes that is actually kind of a PITA. Especially when I can't arm my weapons systems while flying without having to turn on AI to grab the mouse and hit the switch manually. Great point here RangerGav! 1

Great point here RangerGav! I actually found one random one earlier that was 'switch up' and 'switch down' - I think the multi-function display one - which is momentary anyway so makes sense. But yeah, I realise it's probably annoying from a programming perspective to have three or so different ways to bind each switch/button/whatever - but I really think it should be a standard part of every module (and part of some proper standardisation that ED should be driving with their own and third-party modules). 1
