What is the most significant difference between the Lite and the Crystal?

The Lite lacks eye tracking (and thus dynamic foveated rendering, but is lighter, cheaper and there is no fuss with a battery.

Hoping the Crystal / Crystal Lite works well with the GTX 3090.

What is the most significant difference between the Lite and the Crystal?

Would you say the Crystal is better than the G2 overall?

The Crystal will be fine with the RTX3090. I don't have the Light, but the differences are no battery to worry about (good if you are playing DCS), it's lighter (good), it's cheaper (good), and it does not include an eye tracker (not as good for DCS as you cannot have dynamic foveated rendering). Therefore with the Light you would have to put up with fixed foveated rendering for a performance boost and this will result in you having to see lower resolution pictures away from the centre of your viewing. This all depends on you settings with Quadviews and the tradeoff you choose between performance and viewing fidelity.

The Crystal is much better than the G2 overall. It's only drawback is its weight and comfort. On the comfort side of things I have found that the Crystal is cooler on the eyes compared to the heat buildup I experienced on long sessions with the G2.

I hope this helps you deliberate.

Any ideas what's best to move up to from the G2?

Shame that Varjo aren't doing any consumer units any more.

Tricky to know what's best now ...

I initially opted to wait. WMR isn't going anywhere too soon, and there's a few VR headsets in dev / about to be released / have just been released to look at. The Pimax Crystal Super would be my choice at the moment, but it's not released yet. Then, my HP started having the infamous death throws, and I could see that it's on it's way out, so I was forced to make a decision.

I've gone with the Pimax Crystal Light. I ummed and ahh'd over the Pimax Crystal, but there were too many things that turned me off the headset, and if I'm going to be spending that sort of premium $'s on a headset, I don't expect to have to compromise with it.

The CL hasn't arrived yet. I'm a lucky Australian that gets the "extended excitement anticipation duration" (as a politician would probably spin it  😁) before I get to see what it's like. I really saw I had no other choice. But if my Reverb was still operational, I would have held out another 6-12 months and gauged from others experiences, and future announcements what is the best choice.

Thank you all for your thoughts, much appreciated. Erring towards the Crystal, would love the Super but a bit too expensive for me sadly.
