JAH09 Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 So I have been having a problem with the steer points on my HSD and the diamond in the HUD. I am flying the "Keep the Bear at Bay" campaign and when I fly to the stpt in my HUD / HMCS it takes me to the wrong location. It only seems to happen when I am using a User Files mission. When I make my own "missions" it does not seem to happen. Any ideas? Before anyone asks I do not know how to get the "tracks" or any other info. Thanks
razo+r Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 (edited) Well, without any other info, we can only guess what the issue is, and you did not really give a lot of info... But a shot in the dark: did you press CZ? Otherwise, fly a quick mission in singleplayer and demonstrate the issue. Once you have done that, end the flight and in the debriefing screen press "save replay". Upload that saved file here. Edited June 12, 2024 by razo+r

It's aligned only when it's blinking "ALIGN" on the HUD, and "RDY" is blinking on the DED screen

Thanks In addition to what has been mentioned above, it could also be due to wind. Remember that you're not supposed to point your flight path marker towards the STPT diamond on the HUD, but you're supposed to fly towards the steering cue a.k.a tadpole (circle with a line going up from it) by putting it inside your flight path marker. The steering cue will always be wind corrected meaning that it will actually lead you towards the steerpoint, rather than simply having your aircraft point towards the steerpoint and fly somewhere else. If you wonder what the wind is you can display it by pressing RETURN on the Dobber/DCS switch to make sure you're on the main DED page, then press SEQUENCE on the Dobber/DCS switch to display wind. It will be displayed as "From heading / speed in knots". Anyways, here is a picture from the DCS F-16C manual showing the so-called Great Circle Steering Cue. 1 -Col. Russ Everts opinion on surface-to-air missiles: "It makes you feel a little better if it's coming for one of your buddies. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities." I did not do anything different but i will keep an eye on it and save the track next time it happens thank you for the reply
Eggcake Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) I have the same or a similar issue: Edited June 16, 2024 by Eggcake
Venom8T3 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 I have something Similar. The waypoints in my hsd all fine, but in the hud the distance and markers are completely off. E.G I was 1 mile from target last night but the wp data in the hud was saying over 50 miles. everything was fine prior to take off. Was a hot start on a pre made mission with pre made waypoints already down. again the hsd was showing everything correct. because the wp data was so wrong in the hud nothing would slave to it. could not get mavericks or tpod on target.
