Jester capabilities

Jester has a stick, I've read (and naturally have no first hand knowledge) that at times the GIB would fly the plane for various reasons. 

Why not a command for Jester to 'Maintain [speed, heading, attitude, altitude]', whether in a bank to eyeball the ground or because the GIF has it's hands busy with pilot sh...tuff?  Okay, Jester can't see much out the window, but that can all be done with the instruments in front of him.

Sort of an improved autopilot of sorts for short/intermediate tasks.  He's got the tools, and I've heard stories.

Of course another command for 'I've got it' to hand control back.  Might get complicated gating what Jester tasks Jester can do while also doing Pilot stuff, but rather than 'no can do' he could reply 'got my hands full, want the jet back?'

Or am I, as usual, far behind the curve?

I think the autopilot handles most scenarios already if set up in a stable state. I would think it more important to have an Iceman in the front for when you’re in the back seat fiddling with the radar.

Why? As stated earlier, you have controls back there. And you can engage AFCS first if you want it hands off.

I wouldn’t let that dumb SOB touch the flight controls.

Iceman or similar features for Jester are currently not planned, cheers.

(Note that the AFCS switch is made available for the backseat in the upcoming patch to mitigate issues when flying solo as WSO)
