All,

I wonder if there is anyone out there who is experiencing the same - my Quest seems to loose tracking and my vision 'wobbles'.

Problem -

Upon starting i have buttery smooth vision, head tracking is fine. However over time, and it doesnt happen all the time, i might get a little 'glitch', or jerk and then it is as if my head is wobbling around. The current solution i have found is to cover the tracking cameras on the outside of my head set, move my head around untill i get the 'lost tracking' message. I can then uncover and it reverts back to normal. It will, however do the same again shortly after. Once its done it once it will do it again.

Another solution is to minimise DCS on the comptuter and after a few seconds maximise again. This method doesn't always work.

I have had this on my Quest 2 and thought it was just the hardware however I have recenlty got a Q3 and it does the same thing.

When i exit out of DCS my desktop is also wobbly untill i quit out of Quest link and it resets.

How i run DCS

Using Standalone, i start up the Quest link using cable. I start up OTT and then start up DCS in Multithreading. Starting up OTT i have it so it reduces my resolution on the monitor to 1080 which gives me a noticable frame increase.

Hardware

I7 12700K, 3070Ti 8GB, 32GB Ram

Any suggested solutions or thoughts on what is causign the issue would be very welcome

This could be caused by sitting in front of a big computer monitor and having the inside out tracking latch onto the picture on the monitor. You can try taping a piece of paper with a random QR code on it to the top of your screen, so it hangs in front of your monitor. Then the inside-out tracking can latch onto the QR code.

If that works, you can try other solutions, like minimizing the game screen as much as possible or putting more stuff in your environment for the inside out tracking to latch onto.

HI, yes,

i had also other Problems, stuttering in big mp servers with 20people plus.

i did 3 things.

1. upgrade to 64gig of ram

2. made pagefile bigger (i think thats not nececary anymore because of 64 gig but i see now that in mp dcs need more than 40gig so 32 was a problem)

3. installed empty hangar mod wich is good, it makes loading after joining mp servers faster.

i fixed all my problems.

but this "wobbeling" effect wich is in my case only in the cockpit near to the hud and the upper cockpit is the last problem i am not able to fix.

i tried other backgrounds for tracking, but i think tracking is not the problem.

there is also no pattern, sometimes i join an mp server and i instantly have this problem, but i stand up (reseting vr headset) and sit down and its gone, sometimes for 10 mins sometimes for hours. i also played whole day´s without this problem.

its a realy strange problem. i never had it in single player.

if you find out something let me know.

thx

Hi, i fixed it.

I hope we have the same Problem (because its hard to describe).

I do it again because i want to see if we had the same problem.

Only in multiplayer, mostly servers with more people (for example 4ya servers) and here especially in the areas of airports there is a stutter and then the headset track is wobbeling and there are also graphic problems on for example the hud, it is like pixels around black areas in the hud when you move your head. reseting headset or alt tab solved this problem but its not nice to do it like that.

I turned these options off (i thought i alredy did it but hardware accelerated gpu sceduling was on, maybe an update activated it again).

Definately since i turned off these options the problem is gone.

like on big mp servers on airports sometimes there is a little stuttering, aber after the stutter there is no problem anymore and i dont have to reset my headset.

if you still play i would be interested if it also was the issue in your case.

have a nice day!

Same here:

This happens getting into busy server (actually I only play in 4ya).

I will try your solution.
