Asghardhyl Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Hello, My first try on this mission but when 410 is going back to do an emergency landing, as soon as he has contacted the tower he is doing a full throttle to the west and doesn't land ofc. I'm gonna give it another try tomorrow. If anyone can do the same Regards
Badger633 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Hi @Asghardhyl Away from my rig at the moment been away for a few weeks. Will look into it next week. Do you have a track for the mission or a Tacview file. Both would be useful. Where does he go? Sometimes he used to do an orbit on approach and then land, assume he didn't this time. It has worked fine for over a year but currently there seems to be a DCS AI bug at the moment. Hopefully they will fix it this coming update. Thanks for the heads up will let you know what i find. See how it goes next time, if does it again those files would be useful Cheers F/A-18C Campaigns : The Serpent’s Head / The Serpent’s Head 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5.0Ghz / Gigabyte 2080ti water force extreme / 32 Gb RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600 / 2Tb Samsung 970 Evoplus NVMe M.2 / Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas / Thrustmaster Pedals / Valve Index.
Asghardhyl Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Hi @Badger633, I do confirm its bugged for 410_2 as soon as he had contacted the tower, he went wild "full" throttle to the west. I've link the track and tacview (don't mind my flying skills :D, I'm a newbie). I'll skip this mission for now. Badger633 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Hi @Asghardhyl Just so you know checked this out and found the problem was a change in the way DCS reacts to instructions prior to landing. Fixed it now and will be in next main update. tityus Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 (edited) Howdy, @Badger633, Same issue as Asghardhyl regarding 410 heading back to the action zone. Unfortunately, I'm not prudent as him and I followed 410 trying to issue him a command so he would head back. No luck and with less than 2000, I also had to land at Ras Al-Khaimah and, a few minutes later, 410 decided to head back and landed. I won't say more here, but I'll provide you with my tacview file - just in case it may be of help further debugging the mission. I'll wait for the next patch before continuing this campaign. BTW, one comment: when 410 realizes something is wrong with his engine, he slowly sinks toward his next wp (app AD). He should maintain altitude, if not able to gain more, to have some energy in case his engine gets compromised. Badger633 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Hi @tityus you will see from my comment above the problem is from a DCS update which has impacted the way AI responds to the script. Has worked fine for years until now Anyway i have fixed the issue, it will be in next update. QuasarZero Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Last night (August 7th), I encountered this issue when I was on Mission 8. After defeating the F-5E squadron as planned, the plot indicated that 410 had been hit again and needed to make an emergency landing at Ras Al-Khaimah. This is the same issue I found mentioned in a thread. The 410 couldn't be controlled as a wingman via radio, I was helpless when he hovered in the northwest direction, ignoring the plot's instruction to fly towards Ras Al-Khaimah. I had already reached above Ras Al-Khaimah and was circling, waiting for the 410 to join me. However, he stubbornly remained in the hot zone. Realizing my fuel was bingo and the tanker hadn't respawned, I decided to land at Ras Al-Khaimah to refuel. Surprisingly, after my landing, the 410 started to follow the plot and flew towards Ras Al-Khaimah, initiating the emergency landing procedure. Unfortunately, a spoiler: the 410 crashed on the runway just before touching down, suggesting a fatal outcome. The plot then proceeded as normal. I returned to the sky (despite the plot requiring me to monitor the 410's landing in the air), performed an aerial refueling, and finally returned to base.
Badger633 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Hi @QuasarZero 410 deciding to go AWOL is indeed a DCS bug. The mission has worked perfectly for years prior to the update. I have found a fix and already issued this to ED. It will be released in the next update, hopefully soon. QuasarZero Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 (edited) Yup and nice job, @Badger633, thank you for your timely response! BTW, your campaign is exhilarating, intense, and captivating. It has a great gaming experience. Edited August 8, 2024 by QuasarZero
Badger633 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 @QuasarZero Thanks for the kind words, glad your enjoying this campaign, and hopefully the next two in the series. QuasarZero Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Last night, I successfully completed the final mission 15. It was an exhilarating experience to drop JDAM at a low altitude of 5,000 feet in the nighttime, evading a heavy barrage of anti-aircraft fire. After accomplishing our mission objectives, during AAR, as I climbed from 5,000 to 15,000 feet, the vast expanse of the night sky and the endless sea of clouds left me in awe, just as 420 expressed his admiration for the breathtaking beauty of night flight. It all made me feel so immersed and I'm really looking forward to the Rise of the Persian Lion 2. (`・∀・)b
Badger633 Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Hey @QuasarZero Glad you enjoyed the campaign and it was good to see you noticed and appreciated the atmosphere that we go to a lot of trouble to instil within the campaigns. Hope you also enjoy Ford’s further exploits in Rise of the Persian Lion 2 and now the further follow on Campaign, Operation Green Line. Hillman Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Hi Badger, I completed the ez refuel version and started on the standard version and just completed M8. So far refueling goes ok although the S-3 is challenging with the short hose. Just wanted to mention a possible/minor issue on M8: The Tacan ID given in the HUD is TB, not ABE as expected. I think I saw the same in the EZ version also. Just a minor detail anyway... Badger633 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Hey @Hillman Yes the S-3 is a challenge, if you can manage that the bigger tankers will be a breeze. You were right there is a typo in the Tacan set up for the ABE. Fixed now will be in next update. Thanks for the heads up. 1 F/A-18C Campaigns : The Serpent’s Head / The Serpent’s Head 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5.0Ghz / Gigabyte 2080ti water force extreme / 32 Gb RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600 / 2Tb Samsung 970 Evoplus NVMe M.2 / Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas / Thrustmaster Pedals / Valve Index.
