I am unable to get into multiplayer at all, as soon as the MP menu appears my system does a complete reboot. I have no issues at all in single player.

System:

Core i7 920

6Gb DDR3

GTX285 1Gb

X-Fi Platinum Pro

Vista Ultimate 64bit

Rather frustrating at the moment because it gives no errors and no error log, as far as I can see, to point to the cause.

Hi, welcome to the forums!

You probably get a stop error with a blue screen that doesn't show up because Windows is set to reboot once a system crash occurs.

Please browse to and change: Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> click "Settings" in the Startup and recovery section -> in the System Failure section remove the tick mark from the "Automatically Restart" option -> click OK

Now when the error occurs the next time you will see a blue screen with an error code, the meaning of which you can look up here:

Then I would guess that the problem is some kind of hardware failure, although it is very weird that you can play single player missions just fine and it only restarts in MP.

Judging from your PC specs you either upgraded your PC recently or built a new one from scratch, right? Are you sure that the PSU is strong enough for your configuration? I would estimate that you need at least a good 600W power supply to run your PC under full load. And if you reused an older PSU you have to keep in mind that their power output decreases over time.

Did you try other games or graphics/CPU intensive applications? If I were you I would get some stress testing software for your CPU, memory and video card and run each for a while, maybe you can locate and isolate a faulty device.

New system from ground up, 1000w PSU, it runs everything else that I throw at it, Crysis, Far Cry 2, COD:WaW, all my steam games.

I've run benchtests, memory tests and just about any other test I can find.

Like I said, it is a frustrating one. Thanks for your input though.:)

What kind of security solutions do you have?

It's possible that some firewall or similar thing is awakened by the MP trying to probe for a net connection, and that the firewall (or antivirus, or Windows Defender) is the thing that has an error when looking to handle the security aspect of the multiplayer client.

You could attempt to disable the software firewall very temporarily to see if it that's causing the issue - after ensuring that it has the relevant settings to allow the dcs.exe executable as well as having port 10308 open for both TCP and UDP protocols.
