MattM1121 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) Greetings, I got DCS and the Viper a few years ago but haven't put much effort into it. Now that the latest build has the ability to remove the pointers and a few other features, (although the current build is bugged and doesn't work) I wanted to start looking at DCS again with the F-16. I'm just wondering if anybody that has a Quest 3 has been able to manage the cockpit with just hand tracking. Thanks for your feedback. Edited July 25, 2024 by MattM1121

I’ve been experimenting a bit, while hand tracking works for pushing big buttons, I still find it slower and less accurate than using a mouse. You have to sort of push through the button, not just touch it. This makes it easy to hit the wrong button. Also- I keep hitting my desk. I could fix the desk issue by sitting further back but then I lose access to the mouse for all the stuff that doesn’t work with hand tracking. all said it’s fun for a few minutes and then I go back to mouse control.

Yup. That's why you need a finger-mounted mouse button device, i.e. the Slugmouse. It is the best of both worlds: hand tracking and physical, tactile buttons mounted on your finger.
