ebabil Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I have been using TMWH for a long time and I am ok with it. But I find it hard for helicopters so I have to use an old MSFFB2 for helis. But I don't want to keep two sticks installed due to the crappy looks of the crowded desk. So I am planning to reduce my rig to a single stick. I found a second-hand Warbrd base and wanted to ask if it is better than my existing warthog base, especially for helicopters. Also, can I use my Warthog grip with it or should I get a Virpil grip too? Other option is keeping the warthog for a while and wait for the force feedback sticks. But these FFB sticks look enormous so if they will not make great difference, I prefer not to install such a rock. here is the product (ignore the grip since it is left-handed) https://www.sahibinden.com/listing/ikinci-el-ve-sifir-alisveris-oyun-konsol-aksesuar-pazarlik-yok-virpil-alpha-joistik-oyun-kolu-1146463309/detail Thanks FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
crash test pilot Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 The WarBRD base accepts the tm stick just fine, you even can change the VID/PID to match the tm base so you can use it with the target software. Ask the seller if the stronger springs are part of the package, as the heavy tm stick tends to wobble with the light springs. Its a fantastic combo imho and I just put mine away after I upgraded to a Rhino.
ebabil Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Thanks for the reply. Are you happier with a FFB stick? Would you recommend waiting for Moza or WW FFB sticks or go with WarBRD? crash test pilot Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 A FFB stick surely adds a lot to the immersion and is nice to have, but I cannot tell you anything about the moza or ww ffb bases. The Rhino is a well-engineered piece, I got the DIY version and it took me less than two hours to assemble. Doesnt turkey have ridiculous import dutys on electronics? The WarBRD base is definetely a big step up from the tm base, so decision is up to your guts and wallet. Have fun!
ebabil Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Yeah unfortunately Turkiye's shipping + customs duties almost double the total cost. We ask a friend to bring with him from abroad if possible. So I can't try and fail among the products. thanks a lot for your insights FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
Aapje Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 FFB is a particularly big improvement for helicopters and non-fly by wire planes like warbirds or the F4E. So I would suggest going for that. What you can do, is to build a FFBeast yourself. Then almost all of the spending is online or can be done locally, so you avoid most of those huge import fees. So instead of getting a very overpriced product due to excessive taxes, you can get something much nicer that is not much more expensive that what we would pay. So value for money is going to be much better. But it will require a decent amount of work on your part, like finding a machine shop to make the housing & finding a cheap hoverboard/scooter and salvaging the motors from it. So you have to enjoy taking it on as a project and you need some technical skills. The Rhino is also an option, but you will have to import the motors, which are probably going to be taxed a lot.
