During some missions, my DCS closes to desktop with no warning, no error message. Also, there's some IC issues happening with random files. I've run several repairs by now.

Hi,

in windows event viewer are there any clues?

I would ensure windows is up to date and all drivers.

Run a slow repair of DCS and make sure all unofficial mods and edits are removed, then test again.

If you still crash please attach the fresh dcs log

thank you

Happening to me now. I slowly repaired like... 3 times, but here's a log.

Just checked, looks like its only doing it on the syria map.

Scratch that, it works for a while on Caucuses but crashed outta nowhere, assumed it was random but it was while I was spectating a Phantom (I was flying a phantom too)

here's a log for after it crashed on Caucuses:dcs.log

You're running really slim on memory.  Definitely drop your preload radius back a bunch (it's using a whole bunch of memory that you don't have a lot of -- you're currently at 60,000, drop it to at least 30,000).  And I'd be bumping your pagefile.  Currently you only have a total of 32 GB between RAM and pagefile.

There is no crash in that log file. You probably shouldn't hijack another person's post as your issue may be completely unrelated, especially one that is almost a year old. As there is no crash in the log then it may be Windows killing the process. In this case you need to run the Windows dxdiag tool, save the report, and attach that as well. I recommend raising your own post and attaching the log and the DxDiag report as these issues are likely unrelated.

please check your antivirus is not creating a problem and run a verify in steam of your dcs install.

The stacktrace shows that this bubbled up from the OpenXR Toolkit. I see you are using both the ReShade and the OpenXR Toolkit api layers.

I'd recommend that you install the below tool, and then untick the ReShade and OpenXR Toolkit layers and then try again to rule these out. If this works then re-tick and retry each individually to see which layer may be causing an issue. This tool will also show potential issues with these layers, and may fix them.

https://github.com/fredemmott/OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI

I'd also recommend the following:

  • run a verify files for Steam for the game to do a repair
  • deleting the Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 directories.
  • If it still continues then rename your Saved Games\DCS folder to Saved Games\DCS.old and try again. Rename, don't delete, the folder so that you can get your bindings back from the Config\Input folder in there.

Thanks for your reply. I delete the ReShade layer (something that I unistalled sometime ago, but it seems some residues were still here, thanks for the tip), the Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 directories and exclude Steam folder from antivirus check. I played 2 missions for a couple of hours and everything run fine!

Thanks again, it is the another problem that I had solved by this fantastic forum community!
