FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I have been flying strictly in ( simulation mode ) but am not puzzled by this. When I choose any mission from the main menu all is fine. But if i choose a mission in ( campaign ) folder from DCSMAX, every mission is in ( arcade ) mode but only from the campaign folder is this the case, all others opened with DCSMAX are as they should be in Simulation mode. What up Intel core I9 10900K 3.7 ghz Asrock Z490 Extreme4 G-SKill Ripjaws V 32GB Cooler Master 120m GTX 980 Superclocked Corsair AX850w psu Samsung 1 T M.2 2 X 850 ssd's Sony 48 in HD TV Trackir 5 Hotas Warthog F/A-18C Hornet Grip Logitech Pro Peddles Windows 10 64

slug88 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Just thought someone here my have experienced the same thing and had an answer. This is not a DCSMax issue. Start the game, click Options, click Gameplay, and then check the box marked "Use these settings for all missions". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 maybe the mission you are opening has been saved in arcade mode thus forcing arcade mode No, I haven't saved but one mission and have flown only two in campaign and have selected others and the problem is with all ( campaign missions ) Intel core I9 10900K 3.7 ghz Asrock Z490 Extreme4 G-SKill Ripjaws V 32GB Cooler Master 120m GTX 980 Superclocked Corsair AX850w psu Samsung 1 T M.2 2 X 850 ssd's Sony 48 in HD TV Trackir 5 Hotas Warthog F/A-18C Hornet Grip Logitech Pro Peddles Windows 10 64
slug88 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 No, I haven't saved but one mission and have flown only two in campaign and have selected others and the problem is with all ( campaign missions ) Seems like it's a problem with DCSMax. Why not just load the campaign missions the normal way, however? Sounds like your solution is right there... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Sounds like your solution is right there... Yes loading the normal way is not a problem, I am just trying to figure why I have the problem. Since no one else seems to be having it, that lets me know it's only on my compruter and not DCS OR DCSMAX. Since no one else seems to be having it, that lets me know it's only on my compruter and not DCS OR DCSMAX. Thank for the replys Well, I wouldn't assume so much. For example I've never tried to load any of the campaign missions through DCSMax, and I assume that most others only get to the campaign missions by actually playing the campaign through DCS. I wouldn't be surprised if something about the way DCSMax loads missions precludes it from applying your settings to those missions (in other words, ignoring the "Use these settings for all missions" selection). EtherealN Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Aye slug88, when you start a mission the normal way, launcher.exe copies the mission and places a temporary copy of it (with whatever changes are necessary for your settings) in the temp folder. If you launch directly from DCSmax without first calling launcher.exe, I would expect that there could be situations where those settings don't get applied. Only problem with that theory though is that most of those settings will get saved to a good bunch of lua files, so the settings should still be available to dcs.exe.
