... I mainly mean the spikes from the center position of the X and Y axis, as well as the stiff spring that makes small inputs rather hard. Once I overcome the spring, the input spikes, resulting in jerky movements of the helo.

In comparison, I was flying with a Logitech Wingman, whose center was rock steady and the movement smooth, with very small input corrections possible. Still, due to the Logitech stick not having the same amount of programmable buttons available, I'd rather stick with the X-45 - as long as I can get it to behave smoother ...

So, any advice as to how to setup deadzones right - either in the X-45's properties and/or the sim's options menu? What about the curves for the axis?

Any input on this is appreciated.

Cheers,

Rainer

Try loosening the spring by using a ZipTie(or ZapStrap, whatever you call them) to tighten a couple coils together. I used two zipties on my X52 and it worked well.

Now that's actually an interesting suggestion. I will have to try that out tonite!

So, I used two wire-ties to tie up those spring coils as well. The stick has gotten much smoother, and it's much better to control the helo with it... Thanks again :) :pilotfly:
