I already ordrered a copy.I'm not sure if BS can take benefit from multicore cpu's but I will tell you how it runs on a X58 platform.

It can benefit from multicore with the i7 chip I am using, using DCSMax under Win Vista 64 Home Premium. I also ran BS under Win XP and used DCSMax to stablize my FPS.

Noob question: what is DCSMax?

Also,are you having any problems with the 185.50 drivers?

Search these board here for DCS Max by Skypat. OUTSTANDING program that assists BS a lot in the FPS dept. It has some other useful tools inside of it. If I run across the thread, I will forward it to you, but for now do a search of these boards of Skypat and DCSMax.

For what its worth:

I just built an X58/core i7 920 system, keeping my old graphics card (nvidia 8600), upgrading from an AMD X2 4400.

I went from medium settings at 1280x960 to almost full settings at 1680x1050.. :D

You should better upgrade your card now,you'll see a lot of things improving on an X58 platform...

Respectfully, erikjo, that's not a test. ;)

 

A test would have been if you had two otherwise equal setups (as equal as you can get when you have to use chipsets for different sockets of different age), ran a test regime with the E8600, and then ran the exact same regime on the i7 system.
