Hollister56 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Heatblur Team and F-14 forum members, When I build a ACLS mission for the F-14B and have everything setup correctly, when I engage the autopilot in ACL all the spoilers extend and DLC goes to maximum extension, airspeed increases to approximately 150kts, much higher than the normal Vref speed. Also note the Localizer needle is off to the right, it was centered when I engaged the autopilot. When you breakout the airplane is aligned with the deck, but the needle is off to the right. I am not sure why this is happening, just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and if there is a solution? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if ACLS can use DLC, probably not. What is your AntiSkid/SpoilerBK switch set to? Should be Off. What is your HUD/VDI AWL switch set to? Should be ACL. Hollister56 Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 Gross weight is pretty low, DLC is required for ACLS approach, the switch is set to off and the other switches are in ACL. It's pretty odd behavior for sure............and it doesn't do it in every mission, which is even stranger.

I have tried few case 3 landings, the vertical needle would move to center from either left or right. draconus Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I just made two ACLS approaches and my needles were all centered. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

cesarferrolho Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 From the images, it seems you are probably around 1 nm from the boat or so... Looks weird that you aren't already centered in the glideslope and the airplane has a bit of right roll. From 10 nm or so, you should already be centered without need of any roll. Or did you engage it very close to the boat? Did it land on centerline? Was there much wind?
