Hadeda Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Experienced with the Hornet and keen to join any casual or semi-serious squadrons who fly regularly but ideally a little earlier in the day!
Panny Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Am not too sure what would be defined as early evening, however these may be your picks(but it depends on how serious you want to go): (albeit recruitment won't occur until later in the year) They both start 1830Z (well, DCAF is 1830 GMT or BST, so it accounts for daylight savings). Otherwise I suspect if it's very much afternoon focussed you'd have to consider finding a Middle Eastern or Indian group Cheers, Peter @dutchili (for visibility in case I misrepresented your group) In terms of something that may be more initially casual, Wild Wolves could be a place to look(they're predominantly UK based so I suspect their timings are earlier?) 2 Website | Digital Coalition Air Force | Discord CPU: AMD R9950X \ Mobo: MSI MPG X670E Gaming Carbon WiFi \ RAM: Corsair Vengeance 96GB 6000MT/s \ GPU: RTX 5090 \ Various SSDs
Panny Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) That said, I think a big emphasis is really how casual or serious you want to go as that will kind of define time commitments. Casual groups will typically result in shorter ops(unless people are having technical problems which can have a higher incidence rate and volatility). More 'serious' groups will probably have longer briefs, missions, and debriefs. In my case being in the UK and starting 1830 my time, on a Thursday night I hope to be able to finish between 2200-2230. The key thing honestly, with whatever group you go to, is estimating whether you like the people or not. Everything is kind of secondary to that. If you really like the guys then you'll be far more likely to want to invest in time and be part of a 'serious' group or whatever else. Best of luck in finding the right home for you and happy to help if you would like more advice Edited September 27, 2024 by Panny Website | Digital Coalition Air Force | Discord CPU: AMD R9950X \ Mobo: MSI MPG X670E Gaming Carbon WiFi \ RAM: Corsair Vengeance 96GB 6000MT/s \ GPU: RTX 5090 \ Various SSDs
Hadeda Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 Thank you for taking the time to respond - much appreciated. I'll look into the options you've suggested.
dutchili Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 JTS is viper focussed at the moment. From two or more Hornet (or other airframes) we can include those in the missions. We are quite serious on how we go about things. One Wednesday is mission planning, the next Wednesday is mission execution. We intent to enjoy ourselves, learn along the way and be as good as we can be (implying publicly known procedures).
Andrew u.k. Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I fly with 41 Sqn RAF Air, we fly the hornet low level, briefing is at 19:30 and the debrief is usually done by 21:30. https://www.rafairuk-dcs.co.uk/ocu.php
