Aphrodite51503 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I have noticed when you click off an Airbus station or LSO station We can't do anything else but those those stations Problem being is that there's nothing you can do there except for turn on the lights or turn the ship So maybe you can just make it a passing situation where you just click in turn on the lights and go back to pilot the aircraft So it doesn't need to be a whole formal thing to click into the Airbus or click into the LSO And not be able to do anything else Just a little something to think about 1

Aphrodite51503 Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 No I don't agree that it's handy at all to turn the carrier from Airboss station And the reality is that's not the way it works on a ship anyway Airbus doesn't have any control over the course of the ship That's mostly determined in CIC by direction and speed the wind is blowing And also the ship's mission and it's intended point of movement or PIM It actually has nothing to do with the air boss I suggest planning the mission so you don't have to worry about it 1
Aphrodite51503 Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 I'm just saying I am a retired operation specialist in the Navy I have done this job as Alpha Sierra in the past For whatever Alpha Sierra means To you To the Navy it means surface warfare coordinator I know how it all works I'm just saying this is a game and some of the stuff in it isn't correct But I find some of it very annoying I also think a better use of the Airboss station would be actually Parking spaces for the aircraft ourselves Using every single tie down as a possible place to park in aircraft which would include on the bow or on the stern or wherever Transferring that into the Airbus station would be much better than steering ship but making Airbus station not an actual player would allow us to actually fly the airplanes 1

Dangerzone Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) I'm incredibly confused now, but OK. Obviously my reply isn't relevant to what you're trying to say, so I'll delete it to try and avoid any further confusion. Edited October 14, 2024 by Dangerzone 1

How sweet would it be to hold an old school Miramar/Top Gun tournament online and treat it like the movie, winner takes home the trophy. Then I got to thinking how well suited a map of that area would be for training on all levels. You have Fighter Weapons School at Miramar, you have San Clemente where naval special warfare trains and uses air assets for CAS, you have the ship yard for the pacific in San Diego along with NAS North Island, you have a training range at the end of the island for Sea Hawks, you have the Mexican coast line 4 miles south of San Diego. The list goes on. With the new carrier module coming out, it would be an ideal area for carrier training/operations. Not to mention the various environments from coastal, forest, mountain and city, all in one map. Numerous civilian airports, along with the possibility of creating fictitious drug running operations out of Mexico. Let me know what you guys think? Gives us something to do while refueling and works well. Being able to control the carrier in the Airboss tation while in a plane would be very handy indeed. (For both stations). Even better if you're at altitude and need the carrier to turn into the wind for a landing, and then resume navigation afterwards. There's nothing to confuse over I just don't find the Airboss station is being relevant It doesn't do anything other than turning on the lights or maybe turning the ship But I don't think we needed to be an actual player to do that It Prevent us from flying the airplane when we select the air boss in the mission planner
