LukeFF Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Is the animation on the cyclic for apply wheel brakes correct? I notice the paddle moves outward when I apply wheel brakes, as if the pilot is spreading the fingers on his hand. Shouldn't the pilot be squeezing the handle when applying the brakes?
Spartan1-1 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Are you using rudder pedals or a joystick button? Sounds like you may have to reverse the command. I had a similar issue with my pedals... The handle should be "squeezed" to apply brake pressure. slug88 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I am using a rudder pedal axis (Saitek Pro Flight Pedals). When I press the pedal, the paddle "expands" instead of being squeezed. I use a button on my joystick, and the paddle is squeezed when brakes are activated (confirmed by checking the wheel brake pressure on the rear right panel). So you have your axis reversed. nomdeplume Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Sounds reversed to me. I use the slider on my X52 throttle and the animation shows it squeezing. In addition to slug88's suggestion (didn't know about that!) you can use Ctrl+Enter to show the controls - wheel brakes are shown by a triangular bar. Also it should be fairly evident when you have the brakes engaged if you do it while rolling.
nemises Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 yes, the brake handle should "squeeze" inwards when applying the brake ... Go into your axis controls, select "wheel brake" , click on "Axis Tune" down the bottom there click on and select the "invert" option. I had to invert for the toe-brake axis on my Saitek pedals also.
LukeFF Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I had to invert for the toe-brake axis on my Saitek pedals also. Yep, that fixed it.
Azrayen Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I confirm the need to invert the axis on the Saitek Pedals. Remember you can check the wheel brake hydraulic pressure on the "wall" behind the pilot's back (right side). ++ Az'
