Hey gents, never flown a helo sim before but I may not be able to resist Black Shark. My concern is (i) will the program recognise my CH HOTAS (throttle and stick only) combined with G25 racing pedals and (ii) is it flyable with pedals that are not reciprocal, like rudder pedals designed for flight sims? Obviously, racing pedals move independently, pivot on slightly different axes; I'd use the accelerator and clutch pedals, I imagine.

I told my friend to do that and it worked! I don't know the wheel brand/model. Although not ideal, it's much better than the keyboard.

On racing wheels, there usually is a configuration option to have the two axies, accelerator and brake, report to Windows as a single axis. Play around with that.

Thank you! How have your friend's experiences been with racing pedals in BS so far? I'm asking because it a steep enough learning curve to fly a well-modelled helicopter, let alone do it with awkward hardware so I'm eager to know if his setup worked for him. If it did, I'm getting this sim!

Put it this way: my friend won't be buying rudder pedals. I should mention he's not a hardcore gamer, but has Cougar HOTAS and TrackIR4.

The only real problem is that the pedals are not identical and the feel might be different. Also, pressing both pedals simultaneously will most likely cancel each other out, that's it.

Log off this forum and go buy the simulator NOW! :pilotfly:

I use a Cougar HOTAS and G25 pedals no problems at all. As previously mentioned, there's on option in the G25 config for the pedals to report as a 'combined' axis. It's the brake and throttle pedals (clutch doesn't do anything).

So, just to clarify -- forgive me if I'm being dim -- do you set the pedals to report as a combined axis, or cancel that option? And you use throttle and brake? Thanks, kaiserb.

Yes, Combined.

Yes, throttle and brake. Throttle should turn your helicopter to the right, the brake, to the left.
