Probably not since they only deal in aircraft that is in service and the comanche was cancelled a few years back and will never enter service and will probably never ever be built in its current config, it may get re-activated in years to come by another government but chances are, what you have seen of the comanche is all that we will ever get to see and it is very unlikely ED will model it because it isnt in service and even if it were, the tech would be so advanced it would be unlikely they would get the info they would need to model it in the first place.

Beautiful helo though, and I would of loved for it to of become a reality in modern day armies, just a pity it wont be :(

Ah, I loved the comanche series of Novalogic (excep the 4th one). It was not a simulation in today's standards but it was very nice in those days wth colorful graphics and fun missions...

Comanche 3 was my favorite :)

Dirt, if you want to get some Comanche action, there's a sim out there called EECH, http://www.eechcentral.com/

I read somewhere that the comanche program ended up with 2 flying prototypes, with a total program cost of 8 billion USD's.

Oh man, that should be one of the biggest failures in military history...

It wasn't a failure - there was a lot of new stuff tried on it and probably a lot of stuff that went from it to the Apache-D in terms of avionics etc, as well as a knowledge base for future developments.

As a program, yes, it was a bust: The helicopter was over-priced and didn't offer capabilities significantly advanced from what an Apache could offer. Although they do not share the same role, the Apache can do a lot of the information gathering and fusing that the Comanche was supposed to. In terms of stealth, since helicopters were not meant to operate without top cover, and since you would get too close to a SAM to matter when you engage it, stealth didn't matter.

On top of that the main danger was from MANPADS and unguided guns, so stealth is pretty useless there.

Basically it's like buying the top of the line processor today. 5% performance increase for 20x the money.

Well, probably the research and tests done could prove useful for some future combat helicopter or similar purpose projects.
