Silver_ Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) I was flying a mission and I observed that in RWS mode multiple echoes were caused on my radar like a string of echoes from the same plane and nothing except the tanker was there. When you select the target anywhere in the string it becomes to a single contact. https://1drv.ms/v/c/d748c16240d10095/EWqR6yHoyztEisKMIpwKla8Bf8htmUYZDhh-fbz2wxVkfA Edited: Updated video for clarity. Yaga Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 It is the track history maintaining the return for x number of scan cycles. By default the jet has it set to 4. This means you'll see the most recent brick returned plus the bricks returned during the last 4(3?) scan cycles. As they become older they fade out. You can adjust the track history in the CTRL page in the FCR. Options are 1,2,3, or 4. I set it to 1 typically in order to declutter as much as possible. Currently, setting it low has the benefit of getting false contact bricks to go away quicker as well, which is nice. No clue if this is how it is supposed to work, but it is how it works in the current state of our jet. 3
Silver_ Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 (edited) Thank you for your response, it has been useful to me, but the representation on a radar of an object with a lot of screen persistence is not well programmed, that is not how it can be seen, I assure you. In fact, if that were the case, when you put the cursor on a phantom contact, I doubt that the system will select it as happens in my video. In any case, it could be useful to get by until they program it better. Edited November 11, 2024 by Silver_ 1
